iherb review |Amazon Therapeutics, Organic, Yacon Syrup, 11.5 fl oz
Expiration Date:?Aug 2017
Expiration Date
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.
Shipping Weight:?2.86 lbs (1.3 kg)
Shipping Weight
The Shipping Weight includes the product, protective packaging material and the actual shipping box. In addition, the Shipping Weight may be adjusted for the Dimensional Weight (e.g. length, width & height) of a package. It is important to note that certain types of products (e.g. glass containers, liquids, fragile, refrigerated or ice packed) will often require protective packaging material. As such, these products will reflect a higher Shipping Weight compared to the unprotected product.

This delicious root crop has been grown in the Andes by the Inca and their descendants. Related to sunflowers, Yacon has large succulent roots that have a juicy, watermelon flavor. From this we produce an exceptionally sweet syrup which can be used like honey or maple syrup.
You hold in your hands the finest traditional botanical available on earth. This botanical is a long standing favorite in South America where it has been empirically selected for its effectiveness over many generations. Only organically cultivated or sustainably wild harvested plants are collected and shipped to our laboratories.
Suggested Use
Use one spoonful of Yacon Syrup any way you would normally use honey, maple syrup or molasses. Yacon imparts a fruity, honey-like flavor to most foods or baked goods. Use in place of honey for cooking, as a topping over yogurt, cereal or to sweeten juices and smoothies. Please keep refrigerated after opening. Approximately 100 servings.
100% Organic Yacon Syrup (Smallanthus sonchifolius)
Customer reviews about the product:
This is an excellent choice if you are searching for a yacon syrup to try. Just go easy at first...it can cause gas (due to the FOS). It's sooo good for you, though, a better choice than agave if you have blood sugar issues.
I think this must be one of my favorite products from iherb, yummy taste, doesnt effect candida, and can be used for pretty mush any thing. I use it on pancakes, on oatmeal, in chocolate and tea, smoothies, and the list goes on and on :)
Another great product...use this for baking and smoothies - when I want a change from honey.
I use this in my baking and I like it. It doesn't take a lot and Taste a little like molassesand it is good for you.
Tastes similar to caramel. I use it in homemade chocolate, or I just eat a tea spoon full if I crave something sweet. Yacon Syrup is awesome :)
Love this yacon syrup. I use it in my raw chocolate, and also to make chocolate syryp for my coffee mocca. It's the best sweetener for chocolate, if you make your own. I also use it on pancakes, delicious!
This one was good! on ice cream or strawberries. Deliciuos!
the best yacon ive tasted so far
fyi too much yacon will turn a light colored concoction green.
I've tried every yacon syrup I can put my hands on and this is my favorite hands down! the flavor is very complex with a full range of fruity and musky flavors much more desirable than molasses. To think it is a PREBIOTIC too! Here is my most popular holiday candy recipe! Stick in the food processor with raw carob and coconut, chill in little paper candy holders! Tastes like fudge only it is a SUPERFOOD full of nutrition!
Good taste, but I haven't tried other yacon products, so I have nothing to compare it with. The downside with this product is that it takes quite a bit to sweeten chocolate/baked goods, and so it doesn't last as long as I had hoped for. That makes it too expensive for everyday use, but I will order again to use in chocolate.
Great product quality. My wife, who I ordered it for, didn't care for it that much. I thought it was very good. Personal preference. It has a "molasses-like" taste to it. If you want a sweetener that has a more "neutral" flavor, you might want to try the Agave syrup. The Yacon works great in things where you might normally use brown sugar, like oatmeal, etc.
I have to have a bottle in my fridge at all times. For homemade chocolate and other yummies :)
This product is very good in chocolate, it has a very natural sweet taste. I really rekommend this product. I'll buy it again!
This is too good to be true. It's low GI, tastes amazing and I use in licorice fudge and caramel fudge. GREAT PRODUCT, just LOVE IT!
This syrop tastes wonderful, and is a great alternative for those of us who need to keep blood sugar levels low.
So delicious!!! This low glycemic natural sweetner is fabulous. Just wish it came in quart or gallon size quanities.

I have yet to try baking with it, but I really like it on cereal and in coffee.
like cooking with this
I've used this in cookies and BBQ sauce so far - it's good!
This sweetner has been great in baking and hot cereals. Helps to have something other than Stevia to use!
Really good!!
i will order it again soon.
the perfect sweetener! gives a lot of sweet taste with low GI. I have made some caramels with it, nom! you can use it as filling in chocolates as well, on pancakes or whatever. 'is good :)
This is an awesome sweetener! For me, it has the best taste, I think it's better than sugar and ordinary syrup-taste, so I'm really glad I found this one. I'm gonna need another one soon, as this one is almost empty.
Really good taste
I use it in homemade chocolate mixed with a little agave syrup. Works well!
taste like molasses. very thick but tastes great on my pancakes. i have used this in other recipes and have noticed it turns things green..so caution to that. wished it wasnt so expensive.
Love the taste! It is the best sweetener, because of it's rich taste and it blends well. Use it often!
I purchased this after reading about it being a good sweetener for candida overgrowth I love it make a lot of candida friendly desserts with it thanks :) x
Yacon syrup tastes great. We are trying to balance our sugar levels by avoiding regular sugar and agave. Good alternative to regular sugar if you have candida. Thank you
Great natural, low glycemic sweetener! I am very pleased.
This is the best yacon syrup in the world!
good taste but it does nothing for the appetite or the weight loss
Not a bad sweetener. Doesn't affect blodsugar that much. Very sweet and caramel like flavour.
I use yacon syrup on my oatmeal b/c of its low-glycemic index. It's a short time to get used to the taste; certainly better tasting than molasses, though similar in texture. I've used yacon since 2007 and this brand is the best quality I've found, and iHerb.com offers it at a good price. The brand's 2010 jar/label change confused me initially, and the product seems to have a slightly less thick texture than prior.
A must when you make sugar free Snickers-chocolate!!! And caramel cake... And coconut ice-cream.. And so much more!!! :)
I personally dont really like the taste of it just like it is, and not in my tea either. But it gives a really pleasent sweet taste when used in foods/beverages with a more dominant flavour. But my mom loves it right from the bottle! hahaha
Was great to sweeten my coffee. Better than sugar. Never tried it in anything else, but looks just like molasses.
I like natural sweeteners. Use this for chocolate and baking.
Tastes like caramel
Great taste, and not too sweet. Used this for low carb toffee bars, and they ended up tasting fantastic.
Very high quality. Love this product! I am a holistic nutritionist and recommend this to my clients as a healthy alternative sweetener
I found this product to taste very similar to molasses. It would probably be good for recipes which call for molasses, but I don't see many uses as a sweetener unless you like the flavor of molasses.
I love molasses but am cutting out glucose- this is very low-glycemic and tastes quite a bit like molasses syrup--great!
Great natural low-glycemic sweetener. Delicious in chili and meat marinades; brush it on burgers with salt, pepper and chili powder. Not bad in iced tea.
This is a wonderful low carb alternative to molasses! It is great in baked beans and gingerbread!
Tastes great. I mix with cottage cheese, nuts and dried fruit. Great snack!
looks really yummy but haven't had a chance to try it yet, soon I hope since I'm not allowed sugar anymore :(
Excellent product at a very good price
