I'm redoing my review since I've been using this nightly for a month or two and seen a big change on my skin. During the first couple of weeks my face got so dry it was peeling and itchy. The cream was stinging like mad for about a half an hour after every application. Later on it settled, there's only a slight tingling for maybe five minutes, blackheads and all sorts of clogs nearly gone, old scars are healing and light wrinkles disappearing. All in all my facial skin feels a lot stronger and healthier, less sensitive. Redness, tightness from drought and excess oil production during the day have all reduced. My skin is thin and delicate so I won't be moving on to the 10% cream, but will keep this 5% in my arsenal. This cream has a subtle scent like lemon yoghurt, delicious in my opinion.
This cream has cleared up redspots, acne discolorations/scars, and freckles. It's also prevented my skin from breaking out since exfoliating skin cells keeps the pores from being blocked. I highly recommend this cream. It is very affordable an effective.....even more so than very expensive creams.
I have a condition called erythema where my facial skin is always red and mildly sensitive. It happened because of overuse of acne prescription. My skin is also very rough and in constant need of exfoliation; every night I exfoliate. Manual exfoliation worked, but I was always rough again the next night. I thought about using acids, but passed on it because of my thinking of making my redness worse. But, I decided to try the lowest concentration of glycolic acid. This stuff is good. I apply every night and wake up with super smooth skin. My acne scars are fading and new zits don't become a monster. The best part is that it doesn't irritate my skin. I barely feel a tingle when I apply. I would recommend this to anyone in need of a miracle.
I had a VERY expensive version of this from an esthetician, but found this substitute with the same active ingredient for a MUCH more reasonable cost. Glycolic Acid is one of the few authentically effective ingredients in skin care. Ask a doctor.
this is the only thing that has ever worked on my skin; i have battled acne for years; it hasnt cleared it up completely but the size has significantly reduced and my skin is a lot clearer than it ever has been; even during that time of the month my breaks outs are much less.

I am extremely pleased with the results of this cream! I have been using it for about a month and can see a dramatic difference in my skin. The scaring and pigmentation from acne are diminishing and my skin is much smoother!
I used this for a time to help with acne scars and sun damage, and it seemed to help with that. However, because of the ingredients, I think it was making my acne worse, I had way more blackheads. As far as I know glycolic acid can be good for your skin, but you should try for a noncomedogenic (doesn't clog pores, cause acne) formulation of glycolic acid. When purchasing a product, check online to make sure that none of the ingredients are comedogenic. Hope this is helpful and I wish you all well!
This has really helped my skin! I have far less impurities nowadays, this is a miracle product for me. I will never let go of this product! The only downside is that you burn in the sun quite easily when you use this, so you have to wear spf at all times.
I love this product! I use it every night and the next morning my skin looks fresh and bright. I have combination skin with stubborn black heads and occasional breakouts but I find that my skin has been in better condition after I started using the glycolic acid cream. Doesn't sting or itch when I put it on, except sometimes on the sides of my nose where I have quite dry skin. Will order the 10% cream after using this one up.

My skin has a lot of red spots and scars from years of acne. I was very excited to read all the reviews of this product and decided to give it a try. I've been using it for a wk now. and only used it at night times 1 min before applying moisturizer.
It does remove dead skin cells and but doesn't exfoliate like others have said.
So it's good in some way because it makes exfoliation easier. After exfoliating my skin with another scrubber, my skin feels so refreshed and cleared. Like I said, i only used it for a week so I am hopeful for the result in later day.

I love this product. After using it for 3 yrs., it took 5 yrs. off my face. If I lost 50 lbs. it would show that this product actually makes my skin look 10 yrs. younger!
I used to exfoliate my skin with organic rice bran and I thought this was the best way to remove dead skin cell. However, I watched a TV show and they said it can scratch your skin and your skin become more sensitive. I googled other safer ways and found AHA would be the best solution. My skin type is neutral but quite sensitive so I ordered 5 rather than 10. After I tried it at night and on the next morning...

si bien es cierto que mi rutina facial es completamente diferente desde que conozco iherb, he de decir que esta crema es la que ha marcado un antes y un despues. Mi piel esta mas fina, lisa y uniforme, como mas sana, los poros se han reducido considerablemente, hacia tiempo que no tenia la cara asi, ultimamente no utilizo ni base de maquillaje, mi piel es mixta/grasa. Cuando te la aplicas pica un poco, en 30 segundos desaparece la sensacion. Muy recomendable
This cream I'm going to repurchase again and again because it really saved my skin from the breakouts. It cleanses and tightens pores, evens the skintone and lightens postacne. Doesn't irritate.
Aconsejo usar primero esta de 5% y luego aumentar a 10% y usarla de noche.

This makes my pores look smaller and cleaner and evens out my skintone.It does sting when applied, but I don't have a problem with that. It also has no strong smell which is great. Great product, I just might prefer a tube to a jar, but that's not very important.
I purchased this to lighten up my sunspots. The manufacturer recommends to try the 5% first before the 10%. I have been using Reviva 5% glycolic acid cream for at least two months but didn't see too much difference from my skin. I like the natural ingredients but no benefits. I'll move on to the 10% now.
Stings a bit, but I certainly got rid of my pimples. I combine it with a AHA foaming face wash by the brand of Hadalabo which I apply with a electrical face brush. It was just an inexpensive brush, nothing fancy like Clarisonic, but it does the same thing. After that, I put on 10% salicylic acid and 20% glycolic acid. Then I put this cream on, with Pure & Basic, Vitamin E Oil, 21,000 IU as my only eye cream. This instantly got rid of my horrible hormonal acne and blackheads. My skin looks better than ever, and it is NOT a hard or expensive regime to follow. It takes just two minutes every night. I used to use very expensive products like MD Formulations, but I simply couldn't afford it any more, so I had to rethink my regimen. This works better, and everything combined costs as much as one of the products from MD.

I've been using this cream for a little over a month now and I really saw the difference. My acne scars diminished really fast and my skin is much clearer. Pores are tight ! I will diffidently repurchase it !

I have to really use this sparingly or the sting and itch gets intolerable, and my face will turn red. Also I realised that when I use too much of it, it tends to aggravate my acne.

To strong for sensitive, reactive, dry skin. Works fine for à man with thicker, combination skin. It stings slightly even to his face.
Been using faithfully every night for several weeks now and unfortunately have not noticed even the slightest change. Don't really even want to give it 1 star, but I have to...
I use it only at night and I wake up with smoother skin. The skin feels softer, and the pores look smaller. When you apply it you can feel a tingling sensation, which goes away if you apply moisturizer on it.
I don't feel any tingling. Skin does seem to have fewer fine lines the morning after a night application.
My dermitologist prescribed glycolic acid cream to diminish the rednesss on my face from many years of sun exposure. The cream seems to work pretty well. The redness is mostly gone.
I love this stuff. It's like a miracle cream. I don't know how it moisturises, fights pimples and evens skin tone without drying out the skin or causing irritation, but it does. And I love it! I use this in conjunction with Avalon Organics cleanser and toner, then I use this, followed by the Avalon vitamin c moisturiser. This has really helped me combat hormonal acne- not cured yet but well on the way thanks to this great cream. It has such pue ingredients also, making it even better for the price. This is my second pot I've bought. Something like this would cost at least twice the price in Australia, so thanks again iHerb for the great products. I recommend this cream to anyone of all ages.

at first it may cause some sensitivity, because it peels the skin. so i use it every other day, and moister alot. recommended for winter time usage.
I've used it a few times and then I switched to the 10% version of this product. It's good to use it in case you want to do chemical peels after that.
I am glad I started with the 5% vs the 10%. There is a slight stinging sensation once applied, but that disappears in less than a minute. I have reached the twice a day stage yet.
I really like this product because after using it for a week, I actually saw a more refined skin texture. However, there is something inside the product that either irritates my skin, or it's just that it's too harsh on my skin somehow that it gives me these little bumps...Could be a combination of factors I have to say. Things that can be improved are that I wish it came in a more hygienic pump bottle instead of a jar where you have to scoop the product out with your fingers, and I also wish it was of a more liquid and thin consistency so that I can feel that the lotion is being properly absorbed into the skin and not just sitting on top of it.
Like this and will buy again, but maybe 10%.
Not many skin care products keep all they promise, but this one actually does. My skin has never looked so good. I used to have clogged pores and break outs all of the time, but now I only have a few blemishes around my period. Will purchase again.
Excellent cream, it does what it promisses. My acne scars and sun damage spots are gone after using one jar of this cream. Now I will be ordering a 10% Glycolic Acid Cream. I higly recommend this cream.

glycolic acid is amazing for smoothing out skin texture and sloughing of dead skin that scrubs can't remove. i'm 28 and i'm using this to keep my skin dewy and fresh. will upgrade to 10% in a month for that extra power!!

My sensitive combination skin first got a bit red when applying but soon it got used to the product. My skin feels so soft and much fresher in the morning. I recommend this for both mature skin that needs a bit of pick-me-up and clogged up skin which needs to be freshened. I'll soon try the 10% version! Great price.
